The system consists of five units, namely detection unit, image capture unit, camera unit, automatic license plate recognition unit and network management unit. Detection unit: mainly adopts the speed radar detection method. Camera unit: Each lane is monitored by two cameras, one for panoramic shooting and the other for close-up shooting, and the license plate number is recorded. The night lighting uses a CAD constant light source.


System Components:

Image capture unit: This unit consists of an industrial computer and dedicated software, mainly for image capture, traffic calculation and vehicle speed calculation. The images captured by the system are stored in a BMP file format on a special computer in the field. The special software can enlarge the picture and complete the functions of query, statistics and printing. License plate recognition unit: With the use of automatic identification software, the vehicle can be inspected. When a “blacklist” vehicle appears, the system will immediately issue an alarm signal. Network Management Unit: Controls, records queries, data exchanges, and “blacklist” data refreshes of front-end devices through dedicated software and remote communication networks. In the case of broadband communication lines such as optical fibers, the image capture unit can be transplanted to the remote monitoring center.


System functions:

1. Vehicle inspection record: Monitor and record the model, color and license of each passing vehicle 24 hours a day, and automatically identify the license plate number, automatically refresh the database, and record cyclically.


2. Speed measurement function: The system can accurately detect the travel speed of the passing motor vehicles every day. When there is a speeding vehicle, the system automatically alarms and records the photos together with the vehicle speed data into the violation database.


3. Vehicle flow detection and statistics: Provide accurate hourly traffic statistics, which can provide traffic management department with histogram traffic flow report.


4. Blacklist vehicle inspection: The system automatically recognizes the license plate for each vehicle close-up photo, and compares the recognition result with the blacklist license plate. If there is the same, the system immediately alarms and displays the license plate number and the blacklist license plate type.


5. Remote communication and management functions: In the case of remote communication lines, the front-end equipment can be controlled by the computer in the monitoring center, and the blacklist database can be updated at any time, and the image data and traffic data in the front-end database can be transmitted. Go back to the monitoring center.
